An Act to amend the Customs Act (Chapter 70 of the 1985 Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows:
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Customs (Amendment No. 2) Act 1991 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
New section 16A
2.  The Customs Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 16, the following section:
Rebate for motor cars
16A.  The Minister may, by order, grant, subject to such conditions as he may consider fit to impose, a rebate on any customs duties paid in respect of a motor car and may, by order, direct that the rebate shall not be refunded but shall only be used to set off any specified tax, levy or fee payable in respect of that motor car under the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276).”.
