Road Traffic
(Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use)
(Amendment) Rules 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) (Amendment) Rules 2014 and shall come into operation on 19th March 2014.

Amendment of rule 35

2. Rule 35 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) Rules (R 9) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “1st July 1999” in paragraphs (1) and (2) and substituting in each case the words “31st January 2008”;
(b)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999 (G.N. No. S 291/99)” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6)”; and
(c)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations”.

Amendment of rule 36

3. Rule 36 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “1st July 1999” in paragraphs (1) and (2) and substituting in each case the words “31st January 2008”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6)”.

4. Rule 37 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “1st July 1999” in paragraphs (1) and (2) and substituting in each case the words “31st January 2008”;
(b)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999 (G.N. No. S 291/99)” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6)”; and
(c)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations”.

Amendment of rule 38

5. Rule 38 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “1st July 1999” and substituting the words “31st January 2008”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999” and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6)”.

Amendment of rule 40

6. Rule 40 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “registered for the first time in Singapore on or after 1st July 1999” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “to be registered for the first time in Singapore on or after 31st January 2008”;
(b)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6)”;
(c)	by deleting the words “1st July 1999” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “31st January 2008”; and
(d)	by deleting the words “Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations”.
