In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(2) of the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019, the Minister for Law makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019 (Consequential Amendments to Other Acts) Order 2020 and comes into operation on 2 January 2021.

Amendment of Merchant Shipping Act

2. In section 172(3) of the Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 179, 1996 Ed.), replace “a Judge of the High Court” with “the General Division of the High Court”.

Amendment of Mutual Benefit Organisations Act

3. In section 31(1)(b) of the Mutual Benefit Organisations Act (Cap. 191, 1985 Ed.), replace “Judge of the High Court” with “Judge sitting in the General Division of the High Court”.
