Rules of Court (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act and all other powers enabling us under any written law, we, the Rules Committee, make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Rules of Court (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2019 and come into operation on 1 December 2019.

Amendment of Appendix B

2. Appendix B to the Rules of Court (R 5) is amended —

(a)

by inserting “60” in item 109 under the heading “District Court”;

(b)

by inserting “10” in item 110 under the heading “District Court”;

(c)

by inserting “20” in item 111 under the heading “District Court”; and

(d)

by inserting, immediately below the words “On marking a writ of execution for renewal or filing an amended writ of execution.” in item 111 under the heading “Items”, the following Note:

“Note:— For items 109, 110 and 111 —

(a)	the fees under the heading “Magistrate’s Court” apply in relation to claims lodged under the Small Claims Tribunals Act (Cap. 308) before 1 November 2019; and
(b)	the fees under the heading “District Court” apply in relation to claims lodged under the Small Claims Tribunals Act on or after 1 November 2019.”.
