Telecommunications (Cable Detection Workers) (Amendment) Regulations 2005

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 74 of the Telecommunications Act, the Info-communications Development Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Telecommunications (Cable Detection Workers) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 and shall come into operation on 21st July 2005.

Deletion and substitution of regulation 3

2. Regulation 3 of the Telecommunications (Cable Detection Workers) Regulations (Rg 4) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:

“Application for licence

3. An application for a licence shall be made to the Authority in such form as the Authority may determine and shall be accompanied by the appropriate fee specified in the Schedule.”.

Amendment of regulation 5

3. Regulation 5 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(b)	remain valid unless cancelled or suspended in accordance with the provisions of the Act or these Regulations; and”.

Amendment of regulation 6

4. Regulation 6 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “and the date of expiry” in paragraph (b); and
(b)	by deleting the words “or whether an application to renew the licence has been refused” in paragraph (e).

Amendment of regulation 10

5. Regulation 10 (1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “, notwithstanding that the licence has been renewed since the occurrence of the relevant event, cancel or refuse to renew a licence or suspend the licence” in the 22nd, 23rd and penultimate lines and substituting the words “cancel or suspend the licence”.

Amendment of Schedule

6. Item 1 in the Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “or renewal”.
