Water Pollution Control and Drainage Act
(Chapter 348)
Sanitary Appliances and Water Charges (Amendment) Regulations 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 32 and 71 of the Water Pollution Control and Drainage Act, the Minister for the Environment hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Sanitary Appliances and Water Charges (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1997.
Amendment of regulation 4
2.  Regulation 4 of the Sanitary Appliances and Water Charges Regulations (Rg 1) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “10 cents” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “15 cents”; and
(b)by deleting the words “22 cents” in paragraph (b) and substituting the words “32 cents”.
Savings
3.  Notwithstanding the increased charges effected by regulation 2, the Minister may direct that the charges leviable under the Sanitary Appliances and Water Charges Regulations, in force immediately before 1st July 1997 shall apply to the July 1997 cycle of meter readings.
