Planning
(Changes in Use — Lodgment Authorisation) (Amendment) Notification 2009

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21(6) of the Planning Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Planning (Changes in Use — Lodgment Authorisation) (Amendment) Notification 2009 and shall come into operation on 20th July 2009.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. Paragraph 2 of the Planning (Changes in Use — Lodgment Authorisation) Notification (N 5) (referred to in this Notification as the principal Notification) is amended by deleting the definitions of “bar or pub”, “betting outlet”, “confectionery” and “showroom” and substituting the following definitions:

“ “bar or pub”, “betting outlet” and “showroom” have the same meanings as in the Planning (Use Classes) Rules (R 2);”.

New paragraph 5A

3. The principal Notification is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 5, the following paragraph:

“Authorisation not to apply

5A. This Notification shall not apply to any change in use which is authorised under the Planning (Use Classes) Rules (R 2) or the Planning (Development of Land Authorisation) Notification (N 1).”.

Amendment of First Schedule

4. The First Schedule to the principal Notification is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Class IV: Use as a health centre or an amusement centre” in the second column of items 1, 2, 4 and 5;
(b)	by deleting the words “Class XV: Use as a nightclub” and “Use as a bar or pub” in the second column of items 1 and 2; and
(c)	by deleting the words “Use as a confectionery” in the second column of items 1 to 8. [G.N. Nos. S 329/2004; S217/2008; S 705/2008]
