(Fees) (Amendment)
Regulations 2013
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 41 of the Films Act, the Minister for Communications and Information hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Films (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 28th January 2013.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  Regulation 2 of the Films (Fees) Regulations (Rg 2) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the words “Board of Film Censors” and substituting the words “Media Development Authority of Singapore established under the Media Development Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 172)”.
Deletion and substitution of regulation 3
3.  Regulation 3 of the principal Regulations is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:
Waiver or reduction of fees
3.  The Media Development Authority of Singapore established under the Media Development Authority of Singapore Act may, subject to such conditions as it thinks fit, waive or reduce, in whole or in part, any fee payable under these Regulations —
(a)in any case relating to any cinematograph film, video tape, video disc or video game —
(i)that wholly comprises religious teaching or instruction and is not made or intended for exhibition or distribution in Singapore with the object of deriving a profit; or
(ii)that mainly comprises material for training, instruction or reference, as a manual, a lesson, an encyclopaedia or a guide and is not made or intended for exhibition or distribution in Singapore with the object of deriving a profit;
(b)in any case relating to any video tape or video disc that is identical in content with a film in respect of which a certificate approving the exhibition of the film is issued under the Act and in force; or
(c)in any other case if satisfied that it is just and equitable to do so.”.
Amendment of Schedule
4.  The Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after item (13), the following item:
(14)For review by the Board of Film Censors of any written submission relating to a film
 
$10 per film.
