Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Rules 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Rules 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2003.

Amendment of rule 4

2. Rule 4(2) of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules (R 14) is amended by deleting sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“(b)

an omnibus which —

(i)	in a case where the omnibus licence is issued before 1st September 2003, is more than 15 years old on that date; or
(ii)	in any other case, is more than 17 years old;

(c)

a taxi which —

(i)	in a case where the taxi licence is issued before 1st September 2003, is more than 7 years old on that date; or
(ii)	in any other case, is more than 8 years old; or”.
