Women’s Charter (Registration of Marriages)
(Amendment) Rules 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 180(1) of the Women’s Charter, the Minister for Social and Family Development makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Women’s Charter (Registration of Marriages) (Amendment) Rules 2019 and come into operation on 1 January 2020.

Amendment of Form A of Schedule

2. Form A of the Schedule to the Women’s Charter (Registration of Marriages) Rules (R 3) is amended by deleting the words “section 494 of the Penal Code (Cap. 224)” wherever they appear and substituting in each case the words “section 6A of the Women’s Charter or an offence under section 494 of the Penal Code (Cap. 224) as in force immediately before 1 January 2020”.
