(Foreign Practitioner Examinations)
(Amendment) Rules 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(1) and (2) of the Legal Profession Act, the Board of Directors of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, after consulting the Minister for Law and the Council of the Law Society of Singapore, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Legal Profession (Foreign Practitioner Examinations) (Amendment) Rules 2015 and come into operation on 18 November 2015.

Amendment of rule 4

2. Rule 4(1) of the Legal Profession (Foreign Practitioner Examinations) Rules 2011 (G.N. No. S 553/2011) is amended by deleting the words “by the Attorney‑General to practise Singapore law under section 130I” and substituting the words “under section 36B”.

Amendment of rule 14

3. Rule 14(2) of the Legal Profession (Foreign Practitioner Examinations) Rules 2011 is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “section 130I” in sub‑paragraph (a) and substituting the words “section 36B”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “section 130P” in sub‑paragraph (a) and substituting the words “section 36H”.
