Misuse of Drugs Act (Amendment of First,
Third and Fifth Schedules) Order 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 58A and 59 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act (Amendment of First, Third and Fifth Schedules) Order 2014 and shall come into operation on 1 September 2014.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. Paragraph 1 of Part I of the First Schedule to the Misuse of Drugs Act is amended by inserting, immediately after item (133), the following item:

“(133A) Tapentadol”.

Amendment of Third Schedule

3. Paragraph 1 of Part I of the Third Schedule to the Misuse of Drugs Act is amended by inserting, immediately below the item “Acetic anhydride also known as Acetic oxide”, the following item:

“Alpha-phenylacetoacetonitrile, also known as APAAN, and its optical isomers”.

Amendment of Fifth Schedule

4. Paragraph 1 of the Fifth Schedule to the Misuse of Drugs Act is amended by inserting, immediately after item (11), the following item:

“(11A) Quinolin-8-yl 1-(cyclohexylmethyl)-1H-indole-3-carboxylate (also known as BB-22 or QUCHIC)”.
