Parking Places (Urban Redevelopment Authority) (Amendment) Order 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Parking Places Act, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Parking Places (Urban Redevelopment Authority) (Amendment) Order 2001 and shall come into operation on 7th September 2001.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. Paragraph 2 of the Parking Places (Urban Redevelopment Authority) Order 2000 (G.N. No. S 441/2000) (referred to in this Order as the principal Order) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “13 or 14” in the definition of “monthly parking coupon” and substituting the words “7 or 8”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “5, 6, 7 or 8” in the definition of “whole day parking coupon” and substituting the words “3 or 4”.

Amendment of paragraph 4

3. Paragraph 4 of the principal Order is amended by deleting paragraphs (a) to (d) in the first column and substituting the following paragraphs:

(a)	Form 3
(b)	Form 4
(c)	Form 7
(d)	Form 8

Amendment of Schedule

4. The Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a)

by deleting “10 p.m.” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “1 a.m. the following day”:

Paragraphs (1)(a)(ii), (1)(b), (3)(a)(ii) and (3)(b) of Parts I and II and paragraphs (1)(a) and (3)(a) of Parts III, IV, V, VI, VIII, IX, XI and XIII;

(b)

by deleting “10 p.m.” in the following provisions and substituting in each case “10.30 p.m.”:

Paragraphs (1)(c), (2)(a), (2)(b) and (3)(c) of Parts I and II, paragraphs (1)(b), (2)(a), (2)(b) and (3)(b) of Parts III, IV, V, VI, VIII, IX and XI and paragraphs (1)(c), (2)(a), (2)(b) and (3)(b) of Part XIII;

(c)

by deleting paragraphs (1)(c) and (2)(c) of Part VI; and

(d)

by inserting, immediately after Part XIII, the following Part:

“Part XIV

Parking Charges:

(1) For a motor car or a motor vehicle the weight of which unladen does not exceed 1,500 kilograms —

(a)	45 cents per half hour or part thereof at designated surface lots (between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. the following day).
(b)	$2 per night (between 10.30 p.m. and 7 a.m. the following day).
(c)	$75 per month at designated surface lots.
(d)	$55 per month (where the driver or owner of the motor car or motor vehicle is also in possession of a season parking ticket, as defined in Rule 2 of the Parking Places Rules (R 2), to park a motor vehicle the weight of which unladen exceeds 1,500 kilograms in that place).

(2) For a motor vehicle with fewer than 4 wheels and the weight of which unladen does not exceed 400 kilograms —

(a)	60 cents per day (between 7 a.m. and 10.30 p.m.).
(b)	60 cents per night (between 10.30 p.m. and 7 a.m. the following day).
(c)	$13 per month at designated surface lots.

(3) For a motor vehicle (not being a motor car) the weight of which unladen exceeds 1,500 kilograms —

(a)	90 cents per half hour or part thereof at designated surface lots (between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. the following day).
(b)	$4 per night (between 10.30 p.m. and 7 a.m. the following day).
(c)	$130 per month where the parking places are located within 3 kilometers of housing estates.
(d)	$120 per month where the parking places are located beyond 3 kilometers of housing estates.

(4) For a trailer or crane the weight of which unladen exceeds 20,000 kilograms, $130 per month.”.
