(Amendment)
Regulations 2016
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 49(2)(ca) and (e) of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2016 and come into operation on 27 June 2016.
Amendment of Fifth Schedule
2.  The Fifth Schedule to the Building Control Regulations 2003 (G.N. No. S 666/2003) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 47, the following headings and paragraphs:
P.Daylight reflectance
Objective
 48.  The objective of paragraph 49 is to protect occupants of buildings in the vicinity of a building from loss of amenity caused by the reflection of sunlight off the external surface of that building, arising from the use of materials with high daylight reflectance.
 Performance requirement
 49.  The external surface (including a roof) of a building must be designed and constructed in a manner such that any reflection of sunlight off the external surface of the building does not result in loss of amenity to occupants of other buildings in the vicinity of that building.

Amendment of Sixth Schedule
3.  The Sixth Schedule to the Building Control Regulations 2003 is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “; and” at the end of paragraph (c) and substituting a full‑stop; and
(b)by deleting paragraph (d).
