Town Councils (Disbursement of Moneys from
Sinking Fund) (Amendment) Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 43 of the Town Councils Act, the Minister for National Development makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Town Councils (Disbursement of Moneys from Sinking Fund) (Amendment) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 1 May 2017.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2(1) of the Town Councils (Disbursement of Moneys from Sinking Fund) Rules (R 5) is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “any of its sinking funds”, the words “that is not a lift replacement fund”.

Amendment of rule 3

3. Rule 3 of the Town Councils (Disbursement of Moneys from Sinking Fund) Rules is amended —

(a)	by inserting, immediately after the words “any of its sinking funds”, the words “that is not a lift replacement fund”;
(b)	by deleting paragraphs (b), (e) and (i); and
(c)	by inserting, immediately after the words “the Housing and Development Act (Cap. 129)” in paragraph (c), the words “other than work necessary or ancillary to installing any lift or additional lift within or in relation to any building or part thereof”.
