Parking Places (Amendment) Rules 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Parking Places Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Parking Places (Amendment) Rules 2018 and are deemed to have come into operation on 1 May 2018.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2 of the Parking Places Rules (R 2) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) is amended by deleting the definition of “parking lot” and substituting the following definition:

“ “parking charge” means the parking charge fixed under section 9(1) of the Act;”.

Amendment of rule 29

3. Rule 29(2) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the word “alternation” and substituting the word “alteration”.

Miscellaneous amendments

4. The principal Rules are amended by deleting the word “prescribed” wherever it appears in rules 2 (definitions of “authorised period”, “season parking ticket” and “whole day parking place” or “per entry parking place”), 7, 9, 10(2) and 30.
