Central Provident Fund
(Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme)
(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2012
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 51 of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2012 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 16th January 2012.
Amendment of regulation 8
2.  The Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme) Regulations (Rg 19) are amended by renumbering regulation 8 as paragraph (1) of that regulation, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:
(2)  Notwithstanding paragraph (1), the Board or the appointed insurer, as the case may be, shall refund to the insured person in cash any part of the premium which had been paid by the person, with the approval of the Board under regulation 4(3), in cash.”.
Amendment of regulation 10
3.  Regulation 10 of the Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme) Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (7), the following paragraph:
(8)  Where any amount of the premium is to be refunded under this regulation, the appointed insurer shall refund to the insured person in cash any part of the premium which had been paid by the person, with the approval of the Board under regulation 4(3), in cash.”.
