Small Claims Tribunals
(Amendment) Rules 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred on us by section 47 of the Small Claims Tribunals Act, we, the Rules Committee, hereby make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Small Claims Tribunals (Amendment) Rules 2014 and shall come into operation on 7th March 2014.

Amendment of rule 6

2. Rule 6 of the Small Claims Tribunals Rules (R 1) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended by deleting the words “Subordinate Courts” and substituting the words “State Courts”.

Amendment of rule 19

3. Rule 19 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “Subordinate Courts” in paragraphs (2), (3) and (5) and substituting in each case the words “State Courts”.

Amendment of Schedule

4. The Schedule to the principal Rules is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “SUBORDINATE COURTS” in the heading of Forms 9 and 10 and substituting in each case the words “STATE COURTS”; and

(b)

by deleting the words “Subordinate Courts” wherever they appear in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “State Courts”:

Forms 9, 10, 11C, 11D and 12.
