Misuse of Drugs Act
(Chapter 185)
Misuse of Drugs Act (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 45 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 1997 and shall come into operation on 17th October 1997.
Amendment of First Schedule
2.  Paragraph 1 of Part I of the First Schedule to the Misuse of Drugs Act is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “Brolamfetamide.” and substituting the following words:
4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxy-α-methylphenethylamine (also known as Brolamfetamine).
4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine.”;
(b)by deleting the words “2,5-dimethoxy-α-methyphenethylamine.” immediately below the word “Dimepheptanol.” and substituting the words “2,5-Dimethoxy-α-methylphenethylamine.”;
(c)by deleting the words “4-ethyl-2,5-dimethoxy-α-phenethylamine.” immediately below the words “Ecgonine, and any derivative of ecgonine which is convertible to ecgonine or to cocaine.” and substituting the words “4-Ethyl-2,5-dimethoxy-α−methylphenethylamine.”;
(d)by deleting the words “2-methoxy-α-methyl-4,5-(methylenedioxy)phenethylamine.” immediately below the word “Methcathinone.” and substituting the words “3-Methoxy-α-methyl-4,5-(methylenedioxy)phenethylamine.”;
(e)by deleting the word “Methylamphetamine.” and substituting the word “Methamphetamine (also known as Methylamphetamine).”;
(f)by inserting, immediately below the word “Methyldesorphine.”, the words “N-Methyl-α-ethyl-3,4-(methylenedioxy)phenethylamine.”;
(g)by deleting the word “Tenamfetamine.” and substituting the word “α-Methyl-3,4-(methylenedioxy)phenethylamine (also known as Tenamfetamine).”;
(h)by deleting the words “2,5-Dimethoxy-, 4-dimethylphenethylamine.” immediately below the word “N,N-Dimethyltryptamine.” and substituting the words “2,5-Dimethoxy-4,α−dimethylphenethylamine.”; and
(i)by deleting the following words:
Dexamphetamine.
Levamphetamine.
Levomethamphetamine.”.
