Rules of Court (Amendment) Rules 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred on us by section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act and all other powers enabling us under any other written law, we, the Rules Committee, hereby make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Rules of Court (Amendment) Rules 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2002.

Amendment of Appendix B

2. Appendix B of the Rules of Court (R 5) is amended —

(a)

by deleting sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) of item 71D (1) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“

(a) where a request is made that the document be processed on an urgent basis

(b) in all other cases apart from that described in sub-paragraph (a)

”;

(b)

by deleting sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) of item 71G (1) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“

(a) where the request is made that the praecipe be processed on an urgent basis

(b) in all other cases

”; and

(c)

by deleting sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii) of item 71I (a) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“

(i) where the request is made that the praecipe be processed on an urgent basis

(ii) in all other cases

”.
