Central Provident Fund (Medishield Scheme)
(Amendment) Regulations 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 57 of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Labour hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st June 1997.
Amendment of Third Schedule
2.  The Third Schedule to the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) Regulations (Rg 20) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “per year” wherever they appear in item 5 and substituting in each case the words “per treatment”; and
(b)by deleting item 7 and substituting the following items:
7.External radiotherapy for cancer
$40 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$100 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$80 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
7A.Superficial X‑ray for cancer
$40 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$100 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$80 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
7B.Brachytherapy (with external radiotherapy) for cancer
$80 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$200 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$160 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
7C.Brachytherapy (without external radiotherapy) for cancer
$80 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$200 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
$160 per treatment for treatment courses starting on or after 1st June 1997.
