Immigration (Amendment) Regulations 2010
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 55(1) of the Immigration Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and shall come into operation on 5th July 2010.
Amendment of regulation 4
2.  Regulation 4 of the Immigration Regulations (Rg 1) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “and, where applicable, for the inclusion in the entry permit of the names of his spouse and of any child accompanying him” in paragraph (1);
(b)by deleting paragraph (3) and substituting the following paragraph:
(3)  Every application for an entry permit shall be made —
(a)through the electronic service provided by the Controller for the making of such applications; or
(b)in such form as the Controller may require.”;
(c)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (3B), the following paragraph:
(3C)  Every application for an entry permit shall be accompanied by 2 recent photographs of the applicant.”;
(d)by deleting the words “and for the inclusion in the permit of the names of his spouse and of any child accompanying him” in paragraph (4);
(e)by inserting, immediately after the words “Form 5” in paragraph (6), the words “or 5A”; and
(f)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (6), the following paragraph:
(6A)  Where an entry permit in Form 5A is issued through the electronic service referred to in paragraph (3)(a), it shall, instead of being signed, bear the following endorsement:
“This is a system-generated document. No signature is required.”.”.
Amendment of First Schedule
3.  The First Schedule to the Immigration Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after Form 5, the following Form:
FORM 5A
UNKNOWN”.
