Parking Places (Licensing and Control of Private Parking Places) (Amendment) Rules 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Parking Places Act, the Minister for Communications hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Parking Places (Licensing and Control of Private Parking Places) (Amendment) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 24th July 1998.

Amendment of rule 4

2. Rule 4(3) of the Parking Places (Licensing and Control of Private Parking Places) (R 1) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended by deleting the words “First Schedule” and substituting the words “Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) Rules (R 5)”.

Amendment of rule 6

3. Rule 6(1) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “Second Schedule” and substituting the words “First Schedule”.

Amendment of rule 10

4. Rule 10 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “Third Schedule” and substituting the words “Second Schedule”.

Amendment of rule 11

5. Rule 11 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (c); and

(b)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of paragraph (d) and substituting the word “; and”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:

“(e)	require the licensee to install direction signs for the guidance and direction of motorists entering or exiting a parking place.”.

Deletion of First Schedule

6. The principal Rules are amended by deleting the First Schedule.

Amendment of Second and Third Schedules

7. The principal Rules are amended by renumbering the “SECOND SCHEDULE” and the “THIRD SCHEDULE” as the “FIRST SCHEDULE” and “SECOND SCHEDULE”, respectively.
