(Chapter 70)
Customs (Amendment) Regulations 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 143 of the Customs Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Customs (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2001.
Amendment of regulation 60
2.  Regulation 60(4) of the Customs Regulations (Rg 2) is amended by deleting the words “the Director of Scientific Services” and substituting the words “an analyst employed by the Health Sciences Authority”.
Amendment of regulation 61
3.  Regulation 61(2) of the Customs Regulations is amended by deleting the words “the Director of Scientific Services” and substituting the words “an analyst employed by the Health Sciences Authority”.
Amendment of regulation 62
4.  Regulation 62 of the Customs Regulations is amended by deleting the words “the Director of Scientific Services” in the 3rd line and substituting the words “an analyst employed by the Health Sciences Authority”.
Deletion and substitution of regulation 82
5.  Regulation 82 of the Customs Regulations is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:
Liquors to be free from contamination
82.  Any person who produces any intoxicating liquor on any licensed premises shall ensure that the intoxicating liquor produced is free from such injurious amounts of metallic contamination as may be specified in any written law.”.
Amendment of regulation 139
6.  Regulation 139(1) of the Customs Regulations is amended by deleting the words “the Director of Scientific Services” in the 3rd line and substituting the words “an analyst employed by the Health Sciences Authority”.
Amendment of Second Schedule
7.  The Second Schedule to the Customs Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting sub-paragraph (b) of item 3 (2);
(b)by deleting “$32,000” in item 6 and substituting “$34,500”;
(c)by deleting “$7,200” in item 7 (a) and substituting “$30,000”;
(d)by deleting paragraph (b) of item 7; and
(e)by deleting “$7,600” in item 9 and substituting “$10,000”.
