The following Act was passed by Parliament on 21st February 2000 and assented to by the President on 7th March 2000:—
Defence Science and Technology Agency Act 2000

An Act to establish the Defence Science and Technology Agency, to provide for its functions and powers, and for matters connected therewith, and to make consequential amendments to certain other written laws.
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows:
PART I
PRELIMINARY
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Defence Science and Technology Agency Act 2000 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Interpretation
2.  In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Agency” means the Defence Science and Technology Agency established under section 3;
“appointed day” means the date of commencement of this Act;
“board” means the board of directors of the Agency;
“Chairman” means the Chairman of the board and includes any temporary Chairman of the board;
“Chief Executive” means the Chief Executive of the Agency appointed under section 10 and includes any person acting in that capacity;
“director” means a director of the board;
“incorporated Departments” means the following departments of the Ministry of Defence:
(a)Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems Organisation;
(b)Defence Materiel Organisation;
(c)Defence Medical Research Institute;
(d)Defence Procurement Division;
(e)Directorate of Research and Development;
(f)Lands and Estates Organisation;
(g)Resource Planning Office; and
(h)Systems and Computer Organisation;
“Singapore Armed Forces” means the Singapore Armed Forces constituted under the Singapore Armed Forces Act (Cap. 295).
