Family Justice (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Family Justice Act 2014 and all other powers enabling us under any written law, we, the Family Justice Rules Committee, make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Family Justice (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2018 and come into operation on 31 October 2018.

Amendment of Sixth Schedule

2. The Sixth Schedule to the Family Justice Rules 2014 (G.N. No. S 813/2014) is amended —

(a)

by deleting items 3, 4 and 5;

(b)

by deleting items 26, 27 and 28 and substituting the following items:

“

26.	Section 92(1) and (2)

When person must normally be released on bail or personal bond, or on both

27.	Section 94(1) and (2)

Conditions of bail or personal bond

”;

(c)

by deleting item 30 and substituting the following item:

“

30.	Section 97(1)

Powers of High Court regarding bail

”;

(d)

by deleting item 36 and substituting the following item:

“

36.	Section 103

Absconding or breaking conditions of bail or personal bond, etc.

”;

(e)

by inserting, immediately after item 39, the following item:

“

39A.	Section 106A

Prohibition against agreements to indemnify surety, etc.

”; and

(f)

by deleting item 40 and substituting the following items:

“

40.	Section 107

Procedure on forfeiture of personal bond without sureties

40A.	Section 107A

Procedure on forfeiture of bond with sureties

”.
