Rules of Court (Amendment) Rules 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred on us by section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act and all other powers enabling us under any written law, we, the Rules Committee, hereby make the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Rules of Court (Amendment) Rules 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2004.
Amendment of Order 70
2.  Order 70, Rule 4 of the Rules of Court (R 5) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the word “writ” in paragraph (1), the words “in the action and subject to the provisions of this Rule”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after the words “Every affidavit” in paragraph (6), the words “required by paragraph (3)”; and
(c)by deleting sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (7) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
(c)that at the time of the issue of the writ the relevant person was either the beneficial owner of all the shares in the ship in respect of which the warrant is required or the charterer of that ship under a charter by demise; and”.
