Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles,
Registration and Licensing)
(Amendment No. 4) Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 4) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 30 June 2017.

Amendment of rule 9C

2. Rule 9C(9) of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) is amended by deleting the words “30 June 2017” in sub‑paragraphs (b) and (d) and substituting in each case the words “31 December 2017”.

Amendment of First Schedule

3. The First Schedule to the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “30 JUNE 2017” in the heading “CARBON EMISSIONS REBATE FOR MOTOR CARS (OTHER THAN TAXIS) FIRST REGISTERED DURING PERIOD FROM 1 JULY 2015 TO 30 JUNE 2017 (BOTH DATES INCLUSIVE)” in Part IIB and substituting the words “31 DECEMBER 2017”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “30 JUNE 2017” in the heading “CARBON EMISSIONS REBATE FOR TAXIS FIRST REGISTERED DURING PERIOD FROM 1 JULY 2015 TO 30 JUNE 2017 (BOTH DATES INCLUSIVE)” in Part IIC and substituting the words “31 DECEMBER 2017”.
