Companies (Identical Names) (Amendment) Rules 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27(2D) of the Companies Act, the Registrar of Companies hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Companies (Identical Names) (Amendment) Rules 2004 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st February 2004.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2 of the Companies (Identical Names) Rules 2003 (G.N. No. S 18/2003) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “of a company” in paragraph (a);
(b)by inserting, immediately after the words “at the end of the name” in paragraph (a) iii), the words “, except where the corporations concerned are related to each other within the meaning of section 6 of the Act”; and
(c)by inserting, immediately after the words “sub-paragraph (iii)” in paragraph (a) iv), the words “, except where the corporations concerned are related to each other within the meaning of section 6 of the Act”.
