Biological Agents and Toxins Act
(Amendment of First Schedule)
Order 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Biological Agents and Toxins Act, the Minister for Health makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Biological Agents and Toxins Act (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 2017 and comes into operation on 1 December 2017.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Biological Agents and Toxins Act is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word “virus” in item 9(b) in Part I under the heading “VIRUSES”, the words “(except Indiana vesiculovirus and New Jersey vesiculovirus)”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 1 in Part II under the heading “BACTERIA”, the following item:

“1A. Bacillus cereus biovar anthracis”.
