Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) (Amendment) Regulations 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 137A(6) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into operation on 10th January 2000.
Amendment of regulation 3
2.  Regulation 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) Regulations (Rg 1) is amended
(a)by deleting the words “paragraph (2)” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “paragraphs (2) and (3)”; and
(b)by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following paragraphs:
(2)  An accused who has previously been convicted of any offence under the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276), or any rules made thereunder, is not permitted to plead guilty to any offence specified in paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Schedule in the manner set out in section 137A of the Code.
(3)  An accused who has previously been convicted of any offence under the Parking Places Act (Cap. 214), or any rules made thereunder, is not permitted to plead guilty to any offence specified in paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Schedule in the manner set out in section 137A of the Code.”.
Amendment of Schedule
3.  The Schedule to the Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty By Electronic Means) Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 2, the following paragraphs:
(3)  The offences referred to in sections 5(1) and (4), 10, 13 (2) and (3), 15 (4) and (5), 17 and 19 of the Parking Places Act (Cap. 214).
(4)  Any offence under any rules made under the Parking Places Act.”.
