Infectious Diseases Act
(Amendment of First, Fifth and Sixth
Schedules) Notification 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 70 of the Infectious Diseases Act, the Minister for Health hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Infectious Diseases Act (Amendment of First, Fifth and Sixth Schedules) Notification 2014 and shall come into operation on 5th June 2014.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Act is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after item 19, the following item:

“19A.

Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Infection (MERS‑CoV) (formerly known as Novel Coronavirus Infection).”; and

(b)

by deleting item 21A.

Amendment of Fifth Schedule

3. Item 2 of the Fifth Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Act is deleted and the following item substituted therefor:

“2.	Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Infection (MERS‑CoV) (formerly known as Novel Coronavirus Infection).”.

Amendment of Sixth Schedule

4. Item 1 of the Sixth Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Act is deleted and the following item substituted therefor:

“1.	Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Infection (MERS‑CoV) (formerly known as Novel Coronavirus Infection).”.
