Central Provident Fund Act
(Chapter 36)
Central Provident Fund (Home Protection Insurance Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 39 of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Home Protection Insurance Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st December 1999.
Amendment of regulation 7
2.  Regulation 7 of the Central Provident Fund (Home Protection Insurance Scheme) Regulations (Rg 11) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “section 36(5)” in the 2nd line of paragraph (2) and substituting the words “section 36(5)(b)”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:
(3)  Where the Board is exempted from making any payment to any member under the Scheme by section 36(5)(a) of the Act, the Board shall refund to that member or his estate by crediting to his account in the Fund an amount which represents the premium which had been paid by the member under the Scheme, which amount shall be determined by the Board.”.
Amendment of First Schedule
3.  Tables 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A of the First Schedule to the Central Provident Fund (Home Protection Insurance Scheme) Regulations are amended by inserting, immediately at the end of each Table, the words “Where the premium payable is less than $1.00, the minimum premium of $1.00 shall be charged.”.
