Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act
(Amendment of Schedule) (No. 2)
Notification 2013
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act (Amendment of Schedule) (No. 2) Notification 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2013.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after paragraph 10 under the heading “Interpretation of the Appendices”, the following paragraph:
11.  The terms and expressions below, used in annotations in these Appendices, are defined as follows:
(a)Extract
Any substance obtained directly from plant material by physical or chemical means regardless of the manufacturing process. An extract may be solid (e.g. crystals, resin, fine or coarse particles), semisolid (e.g. gums, waxes) or liquid (e.g. solutions, tinctures, oil and essential oils).
(b)Finished products packaged and ready for retail trade
Products, shipped singly or in bulk, requiring no further processing, packaged, labelled for final use or the retail trade in a state fit for being sold to or used by the general public.
(c)Powder
A dry, solid substance in the form of fine or coarse particles.
(d)Wood-chips
Wood that has been reduced to small pieces.”; and
(b)by deleting the words “Caecobarbus geertsi” in item 1 in Appendix II under sub‑heading B (“Cyprinidae (Blind carps, plaeesok)”) in taxon III relating to “CYPRINIFORMES” under the heading “CLASS ACTINOPTERYGII (FISHES)” and substituting the words “Caecobarbus geertsii”.
