Road Traffic (Vocational Licence for
Bus Conductors and Drivers — Exemption)
(Amendment) Order 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Road Traffic (Vocational Licence for Bus Conductors and Drivers — Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2018 and comes into operation on 10 April 2018.

Amendment of paragraph 3

2. Paragraph 3 of the Road Traffic (Vocational Licence for Bus Conductors and Drivers — Exemption) Order 2017 (G.N. No. S 318/2017) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the full‑stop at the end of sub‑paragraph (c) of sub‑paragraph (1) and substituting a semi‑colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub‑paragraph:

“(d)

any person who drives a bus that —

(i)	is registered under the laws of Malaysia;
(ii)	is the subject of an omnibus licence granted under Part V of the Act; and
(iii)	is being used to provide a passenger transport service for journeys between Johor and Singapore,

when holding a licence under the laws of Malaysia that is equivalent to a vocational licence granted under Part V of the Act to act as an omnibus driver.”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (2), the following sub‑paragraph:

“(3) For the purpose of sub‑paragraph (1)(d), “omnibus licence” has the same meaning as in the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules (R 14).”.
