(Chapter 36)
Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment No. 5) Regulations 2006
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment No. 5) Regulations 2006 and shall, with the exception of regulation 4, come into operation on 1st December 2006.
(2)  Regulation 4 shall come into operation on 1st January 2007.
Amendment of regulation 13A
2.  Regulation 13A of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “a sum of $150” in paragraph (5)(a)(ii) (A) and substituting the words “the relevant sum”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (5), the following paragraph:
(5A)  For the purposes of paragraph (5)(a)(ii) (A), the relevant sum is —
(a)$150 if the female member or female dependant received the day surgical treatment before 1st December 2006; and
(b)$200 if the female member or female dependant received the day surgical treatment on or after 1st December 2006.”.
Amendment of regulation 18
3.  Regulation 18 of the principal Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting “$150” in paragraph (1)(b) and substituting the words “the relevant sum”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (1), the following paragraph:
(2)  For the purposes of paragraph (1)(b), the relevant sum is –
(a)$150 if the member or dependant received the day surgical treatment before 1st December 2006; and
(b)$200 if the member or dependant received the day surgical treatment on or after 1st December 2006.”.
Amendment of Second Schedule
4.  The Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended by numbering the existing item as item 1, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following items:
2.  Treatment relating to hypertension —
 
With effect from 1st January 2007
 
 
(a) Per treatment basis
 
 
 
Withdrawals are subject to the following co-payment requirements:
 
 
 
 
(i) co-payment amount of $30; and
 
 
 
 
(ii) co-payment percentage of 15%.
(b) Per treatment package basis
 
 
 
Withdrawals are subject to the following co-payment requirements:
 
 
 
 
(i) co-payment amount of $30; and
 
 
 
 
(ii) co-payment percentage of 15%.
3.  Treatment relating to lipid disorders —
 
With effect from 1st January 2007
 
 
(a) Per treatment basis
 
 
 
Withdrawals are subject to the following co-payment requirements:
 
 
 
 
(i) co-payment amount of $30; and
 
 
 
 
(ii) co-payment percentage of 15%.
(b) Per treatment package basis
 
 
 
Withdrawals are subject to the following co-payment requirements:
 
 
 
 
(i) co-payment amount of $30; and
 
 
 
 
(ii) co-payment percentage of 15%.
4.  Treatment relating to stroke —
 
With effect from 1st January 2007
 
 
(a) Per treatment basis
 
 
 
Withdrawals are subject to the following co-payment requirements:
 
 
 
 
(i) co-payment amount of $30; and
 
 
 
 
(ii) co-payment percentage of 15%.
(b) Per treatment package basis
 
 
 
Withdrawals are subject to the following co-payment requirements:
 
 
 
 
(i) co-payment amount of $30; and
 
 
 
 
(ii) co-payment percentage of 15%.
