Central Provident Fund
(Medisave Account Withdrawals)
(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 1 June 2018.
Amendment of regulation 14C
2.  Regulation 14C of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (a); and
(b)by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following paragraphs:
(b)$400 for the years 2012 to 2017; and
(c)$500 for the year 2018 and any subsequent year.”.
Amendment of regulation 21B
3.  Regulation 21B of the principal Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “is 65 years of age or older” in paragraph (2)(a)(i) and substituting the words “has attained the eligible age”;
(b)by deleting the words “are both 65 years of age or older” in paragraph (2)(b)(i) and substituting the words “have both attained the eligible age”; and
(c)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:
(3)  In paragraph (2), “eligible age” means —
(a)in relation to any specified out‑patient treatment received on or after 1 April 2015 but before 1 June 2018 — 65 years of age or older; and
(b)in relation to any specified out‑patient treatment received on or after 1 June 2018 — 60 years of age or older.”.
Amendment of regulation 21C
4.  Regulation 21C of the principal Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “is 65 years of age or older” in paragraph (2)(a)(i) and substituting the words “has attained the eligible age”;
(b)by deleting the words “are both 65 years of age or older” in paragraph (2)(b)(i) and substituting the words “have both attained the eligible age”; and
(c)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (3), the following paragraph:
(4)  In paragraph (2), “eligible age” means —
(a)in relation to any treatment, scan, test, vaccination or screening received on or after 1 April 2015 but before 1 June 2018 — 65 years of age or older; and
(b)in relation to any treatment, scan, test, vaccination or screening received on or after 1 June 2018 — 60 years of age or older.”.
