Women’s Charter (Garnishee Proceedings)
(Revocation) Rules 2014
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 180(1) of the Women’s Charter, the Minister for Social and Family Development hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Women’s Charter (Garnishee Proceedings) (Revocation) Rules 2014 and shall come into operation on 1 January 2015.
Revocation
2.  The Women’s Charter (Garnishee Proceedings) Rules (R 6) are revoked.
Savings and transitional provisions
3.—(1)  Despite rule 2, the Women’s Charter (Garnishee Proceedings) Rules shall continue to apply to any maintenance proceedings which were commenced before 1 October 2014 in the High Court, and which on and after that date are continued in and dealt with by that Court (other than the Family Division of that Court), as if those Rules had not been revoked.
(2)  In this rule —
“maintenance order” has the same meaning as in section 80 of the Act;
“maintenance proceedings” means any proceedings where a person has applied for a maintenance order, or where the Court has directed that maintenance be paid to a person.
