Central Provident Fund Act (Amendment of First Schedule) Notification 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(8) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Central Provident Fund Act (Amendment of First Schedule) Notification 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2005.
Amendment of First Schedule
2.  The First Schedule to the Central Provident Fund Act is amended —
(a)by deleting paragraph 1 and substituting the following paragraph:
1.  Subject to paragraphs 2 to 7, with effect from 1st January 2005, the contributions payable by the employer and the amount recoverable from the employee’s wages are as follows:

(b)by deleting “$93,500” in paragraphs 2 and 3 and substituting in each case “$85,000”;
(c)by deleting “$5,500” in paragraph 4A and substituting “$5,000”;
(d)by inserting, immediately before the words “55, 60 or 65 years of age” wherever they appear in paragraph 5(a), “50,”;
(e)by inserting, immediately before the words “fifty-fifth, sixtieth or sixty-fifth anniversary” in paragraph 5(a), the word “fiftieth,”; and
(f)by deleting paragraph 6 and substituting the following paragraph:
6.  The rates of contribution specified in paragraph 1 shall not apply to the employees of the following:
(1)The managers of any aided school.
(2)Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority.
(3)Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star).
(4)Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore.
(5)Board of Architects.
(6)Building and Construction Authority.
(7)Central Provident Fund Board.
(8)Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
(9)Civil Service College.
(10)Commercial and Industrial Security Corporation.
(11)Contact Lens Practitioners Board.
