(Admission) (Amendment No. 2)
Rules 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(1) and (2) of the Legal Profession Act, the Board of Directors of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, after consulting the Minister for Law and the Council of the Law Society of Singapore, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Legal Profession (Admission) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 4 January 2021.

Amendment of rule 25

2. In rule 25(7)(b) of the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011 (G.N. No. S 244/2011) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), after “certificate of diligence from”, insert “a Deputy Attorney‑General,”.

Amendment of rule 31

3. In rule 31(5)(c) of the principal Rules, after “if it is from”, insert “a Deputy Attorney‑General,”.

Amendment of Second Schedule

4. In Form D(3) of the Second Schedule to the principal Rules —

(a)	before “SOLICITOR‑GENERAL” in the Form heading, insert “DEPUTY ATTORNEY‑GENERAL,”;
(b)	replace “the Solicitor‑General” with “Deputy Attorney‑General/*Solicitor‑General”;
(c)	above “Solicitor‑General” at the signature block, insert “Deputy Attorney‑General”; and
(d)	after “who must be” in footnote a, insert “a Deputy Attorney‑General,”.
