USE OF COPYING MACHINE
Restriction on use of copying machine
3.  No person shall use a copying machine to reproduce any Singapore currency note.
Words, etc., to be printed behind colour copies
4.—(1)  A permit holder shall ensure that at the back of every colour copy produced by a copying machine —
(a)the word “COPY”; and
(b)the permit number relating to the copying machine,
are clearly printed in such manner as the Board may require.
(2)  Paragraph (1) shall not apply if the copying machine is fitted with a counterfeit prevention system approved by the Board.
Register to be maintained
5.—(1)  A permit holder shall maintain a register at the place where a copying machine is kept to record all copying carried out using the machine.
(2)  The register must contain the following particulars:
(a)the date of use;
(b)the name, personal identification or passport number and signature of the individual or the name and signature of the officer of a company to whom copying service has been rendered;
(c)a description of the document reproduced;
(d)the type of material copied onto;
(e)the name and signature of the person operating the copying machine; and
(f)the total number of copies made.
(3)  All particulars entered in the register shall be kept for a minimum period of one year from the date of entry in the register.
Only authorised persons to operate copying machine
6.—(1)  A permit holder shall submit to the Board a list of persons who are authorised to operate any copying machine in his possession.
(2)  A permit holder shall ensure that any person whose name is not in the list of authorised persons will not be allowed to operate a copying machine.
Security of copying machine
7.  Where a copying machine is not in use, a permit holder shall ensure that the copying machine is locked and kept in a place which is secured to prevent unauthorised access to the machine.
Board to be informed of loss or relocation of copying machine
8.—(1)  A permit holder shall inform the Board within 7 days if a copying machine in his possession or a main component thereof is stolen or missing.
(2)  If a copying machine is removed to a place different from that previously reported to the Board, a permit holder shall give notice in writing of the removal to the Board within 7 days of the removal.
Board to be informed of scrapping of copying machine
9.  If a copying machine is to be disposed of by scrapping, a permit holder shall —
(a)render the copying machine incapable of any further use; and
(b)not later than 7 days after the scrapping, furnish to the Board a document certifying that the machine has been scrapped.
Board to be notified of exportation of copying machine
10.  If a copying machine is to be exported, a permit holder shall, not later than 7 days after the exportation, furnish to the Board a copy of the official export document certifying that the machine has been exported.
Inspection of copying machine
11.  A permit holder shall at all reasonable times permit an authorised officer of the Board to —
(a)inspect and test a copying machine; and
(b)inspect and make copies of particulars entered in the register maintained under regulation 5,
and shall furnish any other relevant information the officer may require.
