Strategic Goods (Control)
(Amendment No. 3) Regulations 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 38 of the Strategic Goods (Control) Act, the Minister for Trade and Industry makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Strategic Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 3) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 15 December 2020.

New regulation 12A

2. The Strategic Goods (Control) Regulations (Rg 1) are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 12, the following regulation:

“Prescribed service for the purpose of section 6(6)

12A.—(1) For the purpose of section 6(6), hospitality service for any event (such as an exhibition or a fair or show) that facilitates the arrangement or negotiation of a contract mentioned in section 6(1) is a prescribed service.

(2) In paragraph (1), “hospitality service” means a service for the provision of, or for making arrangements to provide —

(a)	transport, food, drinks, accommodation or entertainment activities to a person who attends an event;
(b)	a venue for an event; or
(c)	logistical or technical support for an event.”.
