(Amendment of Schedule)
Notification 2016

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act, the Minister for National Development makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Notification is the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act (Amendment of Schedule) Notification 2016 and, except for paragraph 2(b) and (c), comes into operation on 10 March 2016.

(2) Paragraph 2(b) and (c) comes into operation on 9 May 2016.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Appendices of the Schedule to the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act are amended —

(a)

by deleting item 11 under sub‑heading A in taxon I under the heading “CLASS AVES (BIRDS)” in Part I;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 11 in taxon XXVI under the heading “FLORA (PLANTS)” in Part II, the following item:

“

11A.

Pterocarpus erinaceus^#1 (Senegal)

^#1 All parts and derivatives, except:

(a)	seeds, spores and pollen (including pollinia);

(b)	seedling or tissue cultures obtained in vitro, in solid or liquid media, transported in sterile containers;

(c)	cut flowers of artificially propagated plants; and

(d)	fruits, and parts and derivatives thereof, of artificially propagated plants of the genus Vanilla.

”; and

(c)

by deleting items 1 and 2 in taxon XXIX under the heading “FLORA (PLANTS)” in Part II and substituting the following items:

“

Cedrela fissilis^#5 (Brazil and the Plurinational State of Bolivia)

Cedrela lilloi^#5 (Brazil and the Plurinational State of Bolivia)

^#5 Logs, sawn wood and veneer sheets.

”.
