Small Claims Tribunals
(Amendment) Rules 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Small Claims Tribunals Act, we, the Rules Committee, make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Small Claims Tribunals (Amendment) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 2 January 2021.

Miscellaneous amendments

2. The Small Claims Tribunals Rules (R 1) are amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “High Court” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “General Division of the High Court”:

Rule 2(1A)(b)

Rule 21(1)

Rule 25(2) and (3)

Rule 26(2)

Rule 27(2)

Rule 29

Rule 32(4)(b) and (c);

(b)

by deleting the words “HIGH COURT” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “GENERAL DIVISION OF HIGH COURT”:

Part VIIB (Part heading)

Part VIII (Part heading); and

(c)

by deleting the words “High Court” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “General Division of High Court”:

Rule 30 (rule heading)

The Schedule, items 3, 4 and 5.
