Criminal Procedure
(Amendment) Rules 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 428A(15) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 2 January 2021.

Miscellaneous amendments

2. The Schedule to the Criminal Procedure Rules 2018 (G.N. No. S 727/2018) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “High Court” wherever they appear in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “General Division of the High Court”:

Forms 20, 37, 46, 47, 50, 51, 53, 55, 56, 68 and 77;

(b)

by deleting the words “said Court” wherever they appear in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “General Division of the High Court”:

Forms 20 and 47;

(c)

by deleting the words “HIGH COURT” in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “GENERAL DIVISION OF HIGH COURT”:

Forms 42, 48 and 53;

(d)

by deleting the words “the High Court” in the following Form and substituting the words “the General Division of the High Court”:

Form 52;

(e)

by deleting the words “Judge of Appeal/High Court Judge*” in the following Form and substituting the words “Justice of the Court of Appeal/Judge of the Appellate Division/Judge of the High Court*”:

Form 52;

(f)

by deleting the words “Judge of Appeal” wherever they appear in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “Justice of the Court of Appeal”:

Forms 55 and 56; and

(g)

by deleting the words “HIGH COURT” in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “GENERAL DIVISION OF THE HIGH COURT”:

Forms 66, 67, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76.
