Road Traffic
(Collection of Toll at Woodlands and
Tuas Checkpoints) (Amendment) Rules 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34D of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Road Traffic (Collection of Toll at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints) (Amendment) Rules 2021 and come into operation on 3 January 2022.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2(1) of the Road Traffic (Collection of Toll at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints) Rules (R 12) is amended by inserting, immediately before the definition of “authorised officer”, the following definitions:
“ “ambulance” means a motor vehicle that is specifically equipped for —
(a)the transport on roads of; and
(b)the provision, during such transport, of out‑of‑hospital clinical care to,
sick or injured individuals who require emergency medical treatment;
“authorised”, for an ambulance, means —
(a)being specified in a licence (other than a revoked licence) under the Healthcare Services Act 2020 authorising the use of the ambulance to provide a licensable healthcare service specified in that licence; or
(b)being owned by the Government and used for the purposes of the Singapore Armed Forces or the Singapore Civil Defence Force.”.
Amendment of rule 8
3.  Rule 8 of the Road Traffic (Collection of Toll at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints) Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “ambulance” in paragraph (b), the word “that is authorised or a foreign vehicle”.
