Legal Profession
(Admission) (Amendment) Rules 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(1) and (2) of the Legal Profession Act, the Board of Directors of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, after consulting the Minister for Law and the Council of the Law Society of Singapore, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Legal Profession (Admission) (Amendment) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 2 January 2021.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. The Second Schedule to the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011 (G.N. No. S 244/2011) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “HIGH COURT” in the following Forms and substituting in each case the words “GENERAL DIVISION OF THE HIGH COURT”:

Forms A(1), A(2), A(3), A(4), E(1) and E(2); and

(b)

by deleting the words “Judge of the Supreme Court” in Form D(6) and substituting the words “Supreme Court Judge”.
