Road Traffic (Regulation of Speed) (Amendment) Rules 2005

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Regulation of Speed) (Amendment) Rules 2005 and shall come into operation on 7th March 2005.

Amendment of Schedule

2. Paragraph 1 of the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Regulation of Speed) Rules (R 13) is amended —

(a)

by deleting sub-paragraph (a) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“

(a) passenger vehicle not drawing a trailer —

(i) which —

(A) is constructed or adapted solely for the carriage of more than 7 and not more than 15 passengers (excluding the driver) and has a maximum laden weight of not more than 3,500 kilogrammes; and

(B) is installed with body-restraining front and rear seat belts that meet the specifications as specified in the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Seat Belts) Rules (R 15)

(ii) other than a vehicle under sub-paragraph (i), which has a seating capacity of more than 7 passengers (excluding the driver)

(aa) passenger vehicle drawing a trailer which has a seating capacity of not more than 7 passengers (excluding the driver)

”; and

(b)

by deleting sub-paragraph (i) of sub-paragraph (c) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“

(i) which has a maximum laden weight of not more than 3,500 kilogrammes and does not carry any person on the floor of the vehicle as prescribed in the Road Traffic (Carriage of Persons in Goods Vehicles) (Consolidation) Rules (R 1)

(ia) other than a vehicle under sub-paragraph (i) and is not drawing a trailer

”.
