Town Council of Tampines
(Common Property and Open Spaces)
(Amendment) By-laws 2014
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Town Councils Act, the Town Council for the Town of Tampines hereby makes the following By-laws:
Citation and commencement
1.  These By-laws may be cited as the Town Council of Tampines (Common Property and Open Spaces) (Amendment) By-laws 2014 and shall come into operation on 28th February 2014.
Amendment of by-law 9
2.  By-law 9 of the Town Council of Tampines (Common Property and Open Spaces) By-laws (By 35) is amended by deleting paragraph (3).
New by-law 9A
3.  The Town Council of Tampines (Common Property and Open Spaces) By-laws are amended by inserting, immediately after by‑law 9, the following by-law:
Littering on and soiling common property and open spaces
9A.—(1)  No person shall throw or deposit or cause or permit to be thrown or deposited any dust, dirt, ash, food, refuse, rubbish or other matter or thing onto or into any common property or open space except in a refuse chute, dustbin or other refuse or litter container or receptacle designated for that purpose.
(2)  A person who owns or is responsible for the control of a dog, cat or other animal that urinates or defecates on or in any common property or open space shall immediately remove the urine or faeces, as the case may be, dispose the waste in a lawful and suitable manner and clean the soiled area.”.
