Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) (Amendment) Rules 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10A(4) of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) (Amendment) Rules 2003 and shall come into operation on 3rd January 2003.

Amendment of rule 10

2. Rule 10 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) Rules (R 31) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:

“(3) Where the Registrar has approved a transfer of a motor vehicle under rule 26 (8) (ii) of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5), he may, in his discretion and for a period of one year after the transfer, reject any application for a certificate of entitlement by the registered owner of the vehicle who had transferred the vehicle.”.
